Actor Dingdong Dantes is offering out-of-work persons alternative jobs amid the enhanced community quarantine brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dantes announced that online jobs are available for freelancers who are at least K-12 or high school graduates. There are also home-based types of work that require no working experience for workers seeking an alternative livelihood, as per his Instagram post yesterday, April 3.
Dantes promoted the initiative through his YesPinoy Foundation, which is part of the campaign #SanaOL, which also includes the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the job portals Jobstreet and Workabroad PH.
“Gusto mo ba ng trabaho habang naka-home quarantine (Do you want a job while you are in home quarantine)?” he said.
The month-long quarantine implemented by the government follows a strict home quarantine for all households and the suspension of mass transportation. Only frontline health workers, authorized government officials, bank employees and other essential services workers are exempted from the home quarantine.
Recently Dantes, together with his wife, actress Marian Rivera, distributed meals to frontliners at Quezon City General Hospital.
Dantes also provided food to marginalized families and other frontliners, and education-to-employment support for the youth beneficiaries of YesPinoy Foundation and Caritas Offices of Catholic Dioceses’ joint initiative “Andrew’s Fund PH.” /ra
