MANILA, Philippines — Young actress Maris Racal’s call for donations about a week ago has proven fruitful after having raised over P600,000 for the frontliners of Tagum City amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Racal, along with nonprofit organization (NPO) Agbay Tagum, is pledging the donations for the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPEs) as hospitals in the Davao del Norte city experience a shortage of the essential equipment.
“As of April 1, we have already collected more than ₱600,000.00! Thank you to the donors, this will greatly help our frontliners in Tagum City,” Racal said on Twitter on Friday.
