“Sadly, it is my second birthday that I will be celebrating without you,” Cruz said.
Of his birthday wish, he wrote, “I thank God, hope they find a cure or vaccine for this COVID-19 soon. People are really having a hard time.”
Cruz’s wife, actress Lynn Ynchausti, recalled on Instagram Thursday how she and her family spent the day together. “I wore my shirt with TJ’s pic so he could still be part of our celebration,” she said.

Sharing photos and videos (pls. swipe) of the simple birthday celebration for my husband @tirsocruziii yesterday. First photo was lunch time (please excuse the baby powder on my neck) with the 4 of us (my husband and I, our children Bodie and Djanin, and I wore my shirt with TJ’s pic so he could still be part of our celebration). Second is a video where we both enjoyed, since it was our 1st time to do Zumba at home together (pls. forgive our outfits, maybe we can do a little better next time). Third video is my husband’s solo since napagod na ako and had to drink water, 4th video was my husband’s turn to rest coz siya naman ang napagod, and the 5th video, we were tired already but having too much fun of our Zumba “party”. (And hopefully, we can do this everyday to keep ourselves healthy since Zumba is a good exercise especially during this time of ECQ (Enhanced Community Quarantine). The 6th and 7th photos was during our dinner time, and we ate the leftovers we had for lunch, plus our daughter baked chocolate cake for her Papa. Amidst with what is happening around, we still get to smile on my husband’s 68th birthday. Thank you Lord! Thank you Jesus! And before we slept, we both prayed for the people who has touched our lives in one way or the other, who has helped us and supported us during our 2018 journey with our son TJ, we prayed for the sick people, the frontliners, people who are dear to us, family and friends, we mentioned the prayer requests, for the country and the world. God bless us all! Romans 12:12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. 4-2-2020
The couple and their two kids, Brodie and Djanin, shared meals together, and Djanin baked a chocolate cake for her dad.
Cruz and Ynchausti also had their own “zumba party.” “And hopefully, we can do this [every day] to keep ourselves healthy since Zumba is a good exercise especially during this time of ECQ,” she said.
“Amidst what is happening around, we still get to smile on my husband’s 68th birthday. Thank you Lord! Thank you Jesus!” Ynchausti added.
The year before, she and her kids threw her husband a surprise party attended by some of his fellow actors like Christopher de Leon and Ricky Davao.
