MANILA, Philippines — For actress Angel Locsin, she thinks that Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III should be the one to be summoned by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) instead of  Pasig City mayor Vico Sotto.

This comes after the NBI sent an “invitation letter” to Sotto, demanding him to explain his side after he supposedly violated Republic Act 11469 or the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act.

As the suspension of public transportation during  the period of the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine was imposed, Sotto initially allowed tricycles to operate in Pasig City to ferry health workers to hospitals.

“Hindi ako nagmamarunong sa batas, pero sa opinyon ko, si Koko ang dapat ipatawag at hindi si Vico,” Locsin shared on her Twitter account Wednesday.

(I am not trying to sound smart about the law, but for me, Koko should be the one who’s summoned and not Vico.)

Pimentel was embroiled in controversy for breaching quarantine protocol, as he accompanied his pregnant wife to the Makati Medical Center. It was also this time that he learned he tested positive for COVID-19.

Because of this, Locsin publicly regretted that she had campaigned for Pimentel before.

The Department of Justice, however, said that in the meantime, it would not conduct an investigation on Pimentel’s actions.
