For Michael V, the efforts our front-liners put in and the sacrifices they make day in and day out, amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is nothing short of heroic.

“[To] the doctors, nurses, hospital staff, policemen, the military … At this point, you’re already part of history as heroes,” he said in an inspirational “thank you vlog” dedicated to everyone holding the country together amid the ongoing health crisis. He sounded almost apologetic that as a comedian, all he could do during these trying times is to try to make people laugh. “You, however, are called upon to give service that only you can provide. Your jobs are the most difficult,” Michael V said, adding that he doesn’t think he would be able to do what the front-liners do.

“I’m not as skilled, I’m not as courageous as you are. But no matter how tough your situations are, I believe you were put there for a reason, because only you can do what you do. And for that, we thank you,” he said.

Michael V also stressed that the country owes the front-liners a big debt of gratitude. “Our lives are in your hands. We will continue to pray for your safety. May God bless us all,” he said.

Michael V’s colleagues in the longtime comedy show “Bubble Gang” also gave messages of support.

“Thank you for taking care of our people, especially the less fortunate, in the hospitals,” director Bert de Leon said. “We’re praying that you’ll all be blessed with guidance, fortitude, strength and grace from above to sustain you and carry you to victory in this battle against COVID-19.”

Kim Domingo

Kim Domingo stressed that what we’re going through at the moment is no joke. “I know that you have your own families to go home to. But despite that, you’re out there, doing your jobs,” he said. “We look up to you. The whole world is praying for you.”

“Thank you for wholeheartedly helping us and not giving up despite the stress, exhaustion,” Joyce Ching said. “I hope you’re all eating well. Stay safe.”

Chariz Solomon

Chariz Solomon, on the other hand, is hoping that their little tribute will help ease the burden front-liners are carrying. “We have nothing to repay your services and sacrifices. But I hope that, in our little way, we could uplift your spirits, and give you the inner strength and energy that you need to continue fighting.”

Valeen Montenegro

Valeen Montenegro urged everyone to help and donate what they can to those in need and are working on the front lines. “This isn’t enough to relieve your exhaustion or secure you and your families’ safety, but I just want to reiterate that we’re incredibly thankful.”

“We will recover from this as a team,” she added.
