OPM icons Dong Abay and Gary Granada are set to hold daily online classes on Facebook while Luzon is under enhanced community quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Abay said they will conduct the “home school” twice a day, at 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., as per his post on the social media platform earlier today, March 21. The morning lecture will be academic, while the night lecture will be about music, literature and writing.
Granada will take over the 9 a.m. class to discuss the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, while Abay will join Granada at the 9 p.m. shift. Both will be held via Abay’s official Facebook page.
“Kung may oras kayo para manood at makinig, laking pasasalamat ko na po sa inyong lahat. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas (If you have time to watch and listen, I’d be most grateful to you all. Long live the Philippines)!” Abay said.
As promised, the maestro went on Facebook Live via Abay’s page at 9 a.m. today to hold an almost hourlong lecture.
Abay and Granada’s “home school” comes just as other artists including National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab, Ebe Dancel and Chito Miranda hold their own online gigs through “Bayanihan, Musikahan” to raise funds for the poor amid the COVID-19 crisis. /ra
