WATCH: Celebs applaud healthcare workers from homes amid quarantine

As healthcare workers continue to put their lives at risk to help others, celebrities took the time to applaud their efforts from their homes amid the “enhanced community quarantine.”

Tim Yap and his husband, Javi Martinez Pardo, began clapping for the medical staff from the rooftop of a building yesterday, March 16, at 5 p.m. The couple showed their support for the healthcare professionals via an Instagram Live Video on Yap’s page yesterday.

While Yap and Pardo cheered for the workers, Yap assured them that he would be there for them “no matter what happens.”

The outpour of support was part of an initiative that urged the public to clap for the medical staff from their homes, as seen in a series of photos Yap posted yesterday.

Gary Valenciano and his son Gab also took part in the gesture. Gary clapped for the health professionals from inside his home during the imposed quarantine. He also thanked the police and military officers who are helping with handling the situation, the singer said in his Instagram post.

Meanwhile, Gab expressed his support outdoors while wearing a face mask. Aside from thanking those working in medical centers, he also stressed how they “deserve so much more.”

K Brosas also took the time to cheer for the health workers from her own bedroom despite being the only one in her area participating in the initiative.

The outpour of support comes after residents of Spain also took to their windows to applaud the medical staff braving the COVID-19 pandemic.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country, as of this writing, has reached 142. The Department of Health also stated yesterday that out of those cases, three patients have already recovered from the disease.  /ra
