Martin Nievera could not help but praise Catriona Gray after their show-stopping rendition of “Shallow” by Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga last Sunday, March 8, at variety show “ASAP.”
The Miss Universe 2018 titleholder looked back yesterday on the performance, sharing a picture and clips of it on her Instagram.
Nievera’s refined voice added gravity to the song, while Gray exhibited her powerful vocals in the solo parts.
The beauty queen expressed her gratitude to Nievera: “Such an honor to share the stage in a duet with Sir @martinnievera! Thank you for the advice and for helping me calm my nerves!”
The seasoned concert singer returned the kind words. “It was an absolute pleasure and an honor to share the stage with you. You are not just another pretty face that can sing. You are beautiful, dahhhhhh!
“You already have a [singer’s] voice. The voice of a singer that has been singing for years in big and small venues. Please, [keep] singing. You have a beautiful gift! We all went ‘Gaga’ over your, ‘Gaga song’ and performance!”
Since leaving her Miss Universe duties last December, Gray has been determined in pursuing her music career. Besides performing on “ASAP,” she joined “It’s Showtime” as a co-host in January. /ra
