Pia Wurtzbach has finally met her fellow beauty queen and the reigning Miss Universe, Zozibini Tunzi, last Friday, March 6.
The two women crossed paths at the Puteri Indonesia beauty pageant in Jakarta, as seen in Tunzi’s post on Instagram yesterday, March 7.
“What an incredible time being a part of @officialputeriindonesia, it was truly an experience,” she said. “Terimakasih (Thank you)!”
The two looked stunning in traditional Indonesian dresses called kebaya. They also showed off their quirky sides as they struck silly poses beside each other.
Wurtzbach also recounted her time with Tunzi at the said pageant on her own Instagram page. She said that experiencing Puteri Indonesia was “long overdue” and that she “has always loved” the country, explaining that her first trip as Miss Universe in 2015 was to Jakarta and Bali.
While Wurtzbach won the Miss Universe crown back in 2015, she said, “I have to admit, once in a while, it’s nice to go back into pageant mode again.”
The Filipino beauty queen served as one of the judges for the pageant, she said in a separate post. During her trip to the country, she also carried out her duties as the goodwill ambassador of UNAIDS Asia and the Pacific, speaking about HIV testing in various medical centers.
Tunzi won the Miss Universe 2019 crown last December in Atlanta, United States. JB
