MANILA, Philippines – Actor Matteo Guidicelli on Wednesday confirmed tying the knot with singer-actress Sarah Geronimo.
While he expressed joy over the wedding which he described as “almost perfect,” Matteo admitted some “unexpected” event happened but clarified that he did not punch anyone.
“A day full of pure love, honesty and genuine emotions. Yes, we got married. Mr and Mrs. Guidicelli,” the actor wrote as caption in a photo of him and Sarah.
“First and foremost, We would like to express the overwhelming joy, love and excitement we have in beginning our life together. We decided to keep everything as intimate as possible because of private matters,” Matteo said.
“That evening was almost perfect until some unexpected events took place, but don’t worry I never ‘punched’ anyone. I will forever stand up and protect my wife just as how my father would protect my whole family,” he further said.
This is contrary to claims of Sarah’s close-in security detail who said he was punched in the throat by Matteo on the night of the wedding.
Jerry Tamara went public and narrated his side of the story, saying he did not know a wedding was taking place and only informed Sara’s mother Divine that her daughter asked him to go home and leave her.
Tamara said this was when Mrs. Geronimo decided to go to the reception and the situation turned tense.
He claimed that Matteo punched him after asking Sarah to talk to her mother before leaving.
Meanwhile, Matteo took the opportunity to thank their friends, family and those who showed support via social media for being “a source of inspiration, strength, and most importantly, of LOVE.”
“I would like to say thank you to my family for loving Sarah like a daughter. Our family is growing and we are blessed. Papa and mama, thank you for deeply loving and welcoming Sarah into our family,” Matteo added.
The actor and Army reservist also expressed optimism with their situation, saying “In time, with God’s grace and Love, everything will heal and fall into place.”
“We are happy, we are blessed, and we are husband and wife! Let’s always celebrate life and love! Nothing will ever defeat pure honest LOVE,” Matteo said.
Sarah and Matteo have been a couple since 2014.
