Global singing sensation Marcelito Pomoy warned his fans against rumors that state he died following his third runner-up win from “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” season 2.
Pomoy debunked the hoax and urged YouTubers not to post such content just to gain views. He said this via his official Instagram account last Saturday, Feb. 22.
“Alarmed with this post.. Please don’t post fake news just to have views in Youtube… That is so not right.. I am really sad right now,” the singer lamented.
“I love how Vloggers earn money from all my performances in AGT and all but please don’t post like this… I AM ALIVE and KICKING!!! Thank you so much,” he added.
Pomoy’s message came with a screenshot of a post of a Facebook user spreading the falsity, titled “Marcelito Pomoy found dead in his hotel room.” This was by a YouTube channel called Lonely Girl, uploaded on Feb. 22.
Further disproving the hoax, Pomoy yesterday, Feb. 24 was given a hero’s welcome by the people of Caluag, Quezon, the hometown of his wife Joan Paraiso.
Snippets of the celebration were shared to fans via the singer’s official Instagram account on the same day, which showed Pomoy receiving certificates and trophies, and going on a motorcade.
Pomoy is set to return to the United States this year for a concert tour running from June to August, where he will be doing a series of shows in different cities. JB
