Sarah G’s bodyguard goes public on scuffle with Matteo at wedding
MANILA, Philippines — The close-in security detail of singer-actress Sarah Geronimo has come out publicly to bare details on the scuffle that allegedly took place on the night of her wedding to actor Matteo Guidicelli.
Jerry Tamara made a tell-all during a radio interview with broadcast personality Raffy Tulfo on Monday, clarifying that he did not inform Geronimo’s mother, Divine, of the wedding since he did not know there was one in the first place.
Tamara said he only asked Mrs. Geronimo of directives after her daughter asked to be left in the hotel where the dinner took place.
“Hindi ko talaga alam na kinasal, hindi ko alam na may kasalang nangyari,” Tamara said in the radio interview.
(I didn’t know they got married, I didn’t know there was a wedding.)
“Nagtext sakin si Ma’am Sarah na mauna na kami umuwi. Syempre yung amo ko si Ma’am Divine. Syempre magrereport kami sa kanya, na ‘Ma’am for info lang po, si Ma’am Sarah nagtext po samin na pinapauna na po ako umuwi. Ano po gagawin namin?’ Sabi nya ‘Standby kayo dyan, papunta na ako, malapit lang ako,’” Tamara narrated.
(Ma’am Sarah texted me saying I should go home first. My boss is Ma’am Divine so I reported this to her, “Ma’am for your information, Ma’am Sarah texted me to go home first. What should I do?” She told me, “Standby there, I’m nearby and I will go there.”)
Tamara said the commotion started when Mrs. Geronimo arrived at the reception and exchanged unpleasant words with Guidicelli’s parents.
“Kinakausap niya (Sarah) yung mommy nya, ‘Mommy, stop na.’ Tapos nagkakapalitan na yung daddy ni Sir Matteo saka mommy ni Sir Matteo saka si Ma’am Divine ng salita na pangit,” Tamara recalled.
(She was talking to her mom, ‘Mommy, please stop.’ And then Sir Matteo’s father and mother exchanged unpleasant words with Ma’am Divine.)
Tamara said he brought Mrs. Geronimo and her daughter to another room to let them talk before Viva President Vic del Rosario arrived at the scene.
Tamara then said he noticed the actress leaving with Guidicelli’s family through the fire exit while Mrs. Geronimo and Del Rosario were talking.
“Nagsabi ako kay Ma’am Divine, ‘Ma’am for info lang po si Ma’am Sarah dadalhin na ng pamilya ni Sir Matteo. Ano po gagawin ko ma’am?’ Sabi niya, ‘Sundan mo, wag mo hihiwalayan,’” Tamara said.
(I told Ma’am Divine that Ma’am Sarah was leaving with Sir Matteo’s family and asked her what I should do. She told me to tail them and don’t separate from them.)
Tamara then asked Geronimo to talk to her mother and this is where the supposed scuffle started.
“Sabi nung lalaki (Matteo) sa akin, ‘Huwag ka makialam dito, asawa ko ‘to.’ Sabi ko, ‘Sir, hindi naman po ako nakikialam. Gusto ko lang po, bago umalis si Ma’am Sarah, mag-usap muna ‘yung mag-ina.’ Dun na po niya ako binanatan,” Tamara said.
(The guy told me, “Don’t meddle, this is my wife.” I told him, “Sir, I’m not meddling. I just want Ma’am Sarah to talk with her mother.” And that’s when he punched me.)
Guidicelli already denied this allegation in an earlier interview with ABS-CBN, but Tamara insisted that the actor hurt him and he would file a complaint against him.
Geronimo has yet to air her side on the incident.
