To work with Nora Aunor is on the bucket list of most Pinoy actors. That’s why Zoren Legaspi is more than ecstatic to be part of GMA Afternoon Prime’s inspirational series, “Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit,” which is topbilled by La Aunor (premieres today). It’s an adaptation of the 1989 blockbuster movie about three generations of women in pursuit of their dreams.
Zoren portrays the role of Anselmo, which Tirso Cruz played in the original version. Some stories are worth repeating. So let the remake begin.

Here’s my chat with Zoren:
How will your portrayal of Anselmo be different from Tirso’s? Since Kuya Pipo is one of my idols, it’s quite a challenge for me to portray the same role as he did in the original movie version. I have to meet … such a high standard of acting. I watched the original version online and studied Kuya Pipo’s nuances. As an artist, I have to put a little bit of originality in my portrayal, although it is still a homage to Kuya Pipo’s Anselmo.
How is the adaptation different from the original movie version? The movie was directed by Laurice Guillen, and our soap is also directed by her. So she knows how to tweak it. It’s not exactly the same because a soap lasts for three months, so the story has to be stretched. There will be more twists in the plot.
What did you discover about Ate Guy? Even if she’s the Superstar, she does not put on airs. When you have a scene with her, you must do your 200 percent best.
What love advice did you give your twins? To be stable first before they think about getting into a serious relationship. Concentrate first on what they want to achieve, instead of a love life. The right partner will come in due time.
How do you and Carmina resolve differences? We talk things over calmly. No shouting allowed.
If you will do a movie with Carmina and BB Gandanghari, what will the title be? One of my favorite movies is “My Best Friend’s Wedding.” Maybe we can adapt that story.
How do you stay away from temptation? Temptation is all over. It can be vices or girls. I’m also a human being. Not really stay away, but I know how to handle the situation. Either I evade, or I play along without really engaging.
