MANILA, Philippines — If her investment with media giant ABS-CBN would be used to “discredit” what she stands for amid its impending franchise renewal, actress Angel Locsin said critics should not make it an issue since she would donate whatever it earns to charity.
The actress shared on Instagram a screenshot of a post made by Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) director-general Vivian Velez showing a list of ABS-CBN’s top stockholders that included Angel Colmenares, Locsin’s real name.
“Sorry to disappoint some people, but money is not everything. Hindi ko ho alam kung anong intention ni Ms. Vivian sa kanyang post, pero kung ito po ang gagamitin to discredit my name and what I stand for, hindi nyo po kailangang gawing issue,” Locsin wrote as caption.

Locsin is among celebrities vocal in their support for the renewal of ABS-CBN’s franchise.
In an earlier post, the actress rallied behind employees of the network amid its franchise woes.
“Kapag kumita po ang aking maliit na investment sa ABS-CBN, I WILL DONATE EVERYTHING TO CHARITY. Accounted. Again, money is not everything,” Locsin emphasized.

Locsin also explained that her “small” investment with the network is “a privilege offer of the company to some of their employees in installment plan.”
“Mine is payable for 5 years. Wala pa po sa half ang nabayad ko kaya sa understanding ko, HINDI KO PA PO PAGMAMAY-ARI ANG STOCKS na ‘yun,” she added.

Locsin also took the chance to clarify that she is not “part of any political party, nor representing any politician.”
“I do not have an existing contract with ABS-CBN. Therefore, the company has no control on whatever I want to post,” she added.
ABS-CBN’s legislative franchise is set to expire on March 30.
