Hello there, Ara! What’s up?
There are so many talents in this country. It is a mind-boggling thought when you think of it. So many strive to make a name for themselves whether as an actor, a singer, a celebrity, a professional model, a commercial model, and so on. More often than not they are a mix of everything I have enumerated above.
If you are a newcomer, though, it is so easy to get lost in the melee because of how ridiculously fast the turnover is in showbiz. One day you can be on top of the world and the next day you could sadly be “yesterday’s news”. That is the harsh reality of showbiz.
However, for those who work hard enough and can handle the pressure and never give up… the measure of success they hope to attain is achievable and more than possible.
This is where actress-model Ara Altamira comes in. She is just one of the countless people who want to make it into showbiz. The young actress-model has persistence, dedication and strives to meet the goals she has set in her mind. And since my last feature and interview on Ara Altamira more than a year ago, I am happy to find out that she has now become busier than ever. Ara Altamira has gained more opportunities and mainstream exposure as a supporting actress in different television programs and movies.
Ara Altamira is a prime example of persistence paying off.
Article continues after this advertisementBelow is my follow-up piece on Ara Altamira:
- How has your modeling career been thus far?
Ara Altamira: Been busy lately in modeling gigs. Actually, mas madalas yung modeling events ko recently than acting. Blessed to have a “raket” almost every day and sometimes two or three gigs a day pa.
- Of all the photo shoots you have done so far, which one sticks out the most to you? Why does that particular photo shoot remain so memorable to you?
Ara Altamira: My photo shoot in Singapore last October. Actually not the photo shoot itself ang memorable but my whole trip in Singapore. Sobrang exhausted ako lately dahil sa sunod-sunod na work and I wanted to have vacation and visit my friends in Singapore (I have a lot because I worked there for four years). Kaso, I’m very stingy sa pera. I don’t wanna spend too much and ayaw ko din naman manghinayang sa raket na maiiwan ko sa Pinas while on vacation. Kaya I’m glad I got a lot of photo shoot gigs in Singapore.
- If you’re going to choose between modeling and acting, which one would you prefer to focus on?
Ara Altamira: Acting is really my passion, so as much as possible I prioritize acting gigs. But I’m always thankful for the opportunity in modeling.
- Is there a specific kind of motif that you have not yet been able to do in a photo shoot that you would really wish to do in your next photo shoot?
Ara Altamira: Gusto ko maging Wonder Woman. Hindi lang dress code, I actually want a makeup transformation photo shoot. Yung makeup that will make me look like the real “Gal Gadot/Wonder Woman”.
- Is there a specific kind of role that you wish you could play, whether that be in a television program or in a movie? What is that role that you really want to do?
Ara Altamira: I want to play the role of someone with multiple personalities. Actually, nagawa ko na yun before sa KMJS. Pero gusto ko sana ulit, kasi sobrang na challenge ako that time.
- What was the last movie you appeared in?
Ara Altamira: Yung pinalabas na sa cinemas which is “Stranded” but I recently shot for a new Regal movie. I don’t know yet kung kailan ang showing and I can’t announce the title yet but the lead actors are Zanjoe Marudo and Erich Gonzales.
- What was the last television program you appeared in?
Ara Altamira: Of course, GMA’s Daddy’s Gurl. I’m so glad I’ve been part of that hit sitcom for a year already but for other shows aside from that, I recently appeared in Dear Uge. You can also catch our music video in MYX, for Agsunta’s “Kung Di Na Ako”.
- Are you currently filming any new movie? If so, what is your role in that upcoming movie?
Ara Altamira: Done filming a movie for Regal, the one I mentioned earlier. I’m one of the love interests of Ron Macapagal in that movie. I also have a role in Uncoupling on IWant as Ms. Menchu and in the television program Love Thy Woman in ABS-CBN as Dominique.
- For people who want to get you for acting gigs, photo shoots, and modeling gigs, how can they get in touch with you?
Ara Altamira: They can contact me through Facebook: Ara Altamira or Instagram: @ara_altamira.
