MANILA, Philippines — Following the passing of basketball star Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, Filipino celebrities remembered the two by sharing photos showing their bond.
Snapshots of Gianna as a kid with her father and as a teenager fond of basketball throughout the years surfaced online as celebrities paid homage to Bryant.
“Rest in peace beautiful souls. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in this tragedy,” beauty queen and actress Wyn Marquez captioned a photo of Bryant kissing the temple of little Gianna.
Singer Ogie Alcasid also shared a touching photo of the two with Gianna in Bryant’s arms as she held her dad’s face.
Notably, most photos of the father-daughter tandem were them watching basketball games.
“Sad day. Still in shock. Rest In Peace,” actor Aga Muhlach captioned one photo.
Host-actor Jhong Hilario, meanwhile, captioned a photo of the two with a quote by Bryant which read: “The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do – Kobe.”
A sweet photo of Bryant and Gianna sharing a kiss on the basketball court, meanwhile, was shared by actress Jackie Forster.
“Hold your loved ones close and never let a chance go by to let them know how much you love them. Nothing in this fragile life is guaranteed,” Forster wrote as a caption.
Bryant and Gianna passed away in a helicopter crash Monday morning at age 41 and 13, respectively.
