MANILA, Philippines — FlipTop rapper Loonie walked out of the Makati City jail after posting a P2 million bail for drug charges, the Bureau of Jail and Management Penology (BJMP) said Saturday.
“I can confirm na nakalaya siya pansamantala (that he is temporarily free),” BJMP spokesperson Jail Chief Insp. Xavier Solda told INQUIRER.net in a text message.
Solda said that Loonie, whose real name is Marlon Peroramas, was released Friday night.
The battle rap star was arrested along with four other men during a buy-bust operation in Makati City last September.
His co-accused David Rizon, posted a P500,000 bail and P3,000 for his charges.
Loonie and his accomplices were accused of selling P100,000 worth of kush, or high-grade marijuana, to an undercover officer.
He and Rizon were charged for violating sections 5 and 15—that is the selling and using illegal drugs, respectively— of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
