Sarah Geronimo’s ‘Tala’ enters Billboard’s world digital song sales chart

MANILA, Philippines — Sarah Geronimo’s song “Tala” has reached far beyond the borders of the country as it made it into this week’s Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart.

“Tala” landed as 12th best-selling song online, the only Filipino song to make it into the list this week.

Other songs that made it into the Billboard are: “Winter Flower” by singer-songwriter Younha featuring RM (No. 1), “Answer” by boy band Ateez (No. 6), “Boy, Girl” by girl group Loona, (No. 14), “Horizon” by Ateez (No. 18), and “My Love” by Baekhyun (No. 20).

Other debuts are all from South Korean artists: “Winter Flower” by singer-songwriter Younha featuring RM topping the chart at No. 1, “Answer” by boy band Ateez at No. 6, “Boy, Girl” by girl group Loona at No. 14, “Horizon” also by Ateez at No. 18, and “My Love” by Baekhyun at No. 20.

The chart ranks the top downloaded songs for the week based on sales data compiled by Nielsen Music.

“Tala” was the lead single off Geronimo’s 2015 album The Great Unknown.

The song recently resurfaced after the choreography from its music video circulated on social media.

The five-year-old song has become Geronimo’s first hit secure a spot on Spotify’s Global Viral 50, a playlist of the world’s most trending and most shared tracks.
