Actress-vlogger Alex Gonzaga’s dream finally came true after her very own star was unveiled at the 14th Eastwood City Walk of Fame last Sunday, Jan. 12.
Gonzaga was honored for being the first-ever inductee under the newly-created Social Media category in the prestigious Walk of Fame, she stated on her Instagram account yesterday, Jan. 13.
“Last night a dream came true! Thank you to the board of [trustees] for now including Social Media as part of the entertainment industry in the Eastwood Walk of Fame,” the 31-year-old comedienne said.
“Thank you Lord Jesus for including me as one of the inductees this 2020. It’s such an honor to be part of them,” she added.
Gonzaga became a social media star through her YouTube channel “Alex Gonzaga Official”, which she started in July 2017. She has since earned around 5.5 million subscribers, as of writing.
The comedienne also joked about how people can now step on both her and her sister Toni Gonzaga, who got her star last 2013.
“Lastly, yahooo!! Pareho na kami ng ate pwede nyo maapakan basta wag lang madumi swelas nyo pls (You guys can now step on both me and my older siser, just make sure your soles are not dirty please)!” she said.
The Eastwood Walk of Fame, patterned after the Hollywood Walk of Fame, recognizes people with notable contributions to the fields of television, theater, movies, music, news and public affairs, radio and social media. It was founded in 2005 by the late Master Showman German Moreno.
Other than Gonzaga, Kim Atienza (television), Catriona Gray (television), Jo Koy (television), Rachelle Ann Go (theater), Nanette Inventor (music), Jiggy Manicad (news and public affairs), Jun Banaag (radio) and Edu Manzano (movies) also received their stars last Sunday. NVG
