What Kyline did when she saw Ate Guy

For Kyline Alcantara, working with Nora Aunor is a prospect that’s exciting and nerve-wracking all at once.

“Honestly, I’m scared, because I don’t want to mess up,” said the young actress, who will be sharing the screen with Nora in GMA 7’s upcoming television adaptation of the latter’s iconic 1989 film “Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit.”

“I have been looking for a copy. I have been wanting to see it after I was told that it features some of Ate Guy’s best work,” Kyline told reporters after the pilot airing of the weekly variety program, “All-Out Sundays.”

While they have yet to shoot scenes together, Kyline was able to meet Nora during a story conference for the series. Kyline was so starstruck she almost froze.

“I chanced upon her in the elevator. I did greet her, but I just stayed in the corner at first, because I was so shy,” she related. “But I realized that it was my chance to get a hug from the one and only Superstar. So I just went for it.”

And it seemed that Kyline left a good first impression on Nora. “While we were doing a television interview, she complimented me and told me that I have beautiful eyes,” she said.

That’s quite a compliment from someone famous for having one of the most expressive pairs of eyes in the biz. “I was warned not to look too long into her eyes because I would end up forgetting my lines,” she said, laughing.

Kyline, who will be turning 18 on Sept. 3, is already planning her debut party: She’s set to start drafting a guest list; the theme will most likely be inspired by an enchanted forest. ‍‍

‍‍“That’s why I will be working hard this year!” she said.

What about her escort? “I can walk on my own!” she quipped, adding that love life isn’t her priority at the moment. For this promising GMA contract artist, who played the lead role in the screen rom-com “Black Lipstick” last year, career comes first.

‍“Who doesn’t want to have a special someone, an inspiration, a support system? But that’s not in my heart and mind right now. I just want to work, work, work—walang halong show biz,” Kyline stressed. “I want to focus on myself, love myself more. That’s my motto this 2020.”
