Singer Kyla Alvarez, along with husband Rich and son Toby, spent Christmas and New Year reveling in the winter wonderland of Switzerland and Austria.

Kyla admitted she isn’t the adventurous type at all, but still, that didn’t stop her from sledging from the top of Mäanlichen in the Swiss Alps with Rich and Toby.

I’m too scared to get hurt to do anything like that. But I am soooo glad that I did this with Rich and Toby,” she said via Instagram on Dec. 28. “Sledging from the top of Männlichen and gliding downhill for like an hour and half was the most thrilling and exciting thing I’ve done in my life.”

She added she fell multiple times and feared she might fall off the mountain edge, but it was an experience nonetheless that she found fun and amazing.

The family, among other things, also snapped photos on the First Cliff Walk by Tissot. According to Kyla, she had imagined to have her picture taken there since she was a kid.

“I feel a sense of fulfillment knowing that I’ve done something I’ve always wanted to do,” she said. “It’s wonderful sharing my dreams with these two and chasing the dreams together. Making dreams a reality this 2020. #elated #bucketlist #2020.”

Their last day in Bachalpsee in Switzerland was chock-full of events, such as missing their gondola lift, getting lost, hungry, and delayed in getting home. These don’t seem to matter to Kyla, though, who said she is happy as long as she is with her family.

“Pero masaya basta kasama ko sila (it’s fun as long as I am with them). Grabe how this world is so vast and varied. It is just waiting for you to experience it. Sources of joy are literally everywhere. No room for negativity because they serve you nothing,” she said. “Look around you and notice the things that are good. There really is so much to see and experience. God is so good.”

After their sledging adventure, the family spent some time in the scenic streets of Zürich, with Rich as the photographer, of course.

“It’s nice to have a photographer with you… and another one in training,” Kyla quipped as she posted a photo of her by the riverside.

For the New Year, Kyla and the boys headed off to Austria, first taking to Salzburg before wandering off to Hallstatt.

In one post made on Jan. 2, Kyla shared a photo of her with Toby and dedicated a heartwarming message for him.

“Gentle yet full of energy, thoughtful, kind, naturally empathetic, and emotionally intuitive,” she said. “This world is a better place because of you. My barkada, my baby, my everything.”

And no edits or filters were needed for the picture-perfect views from Lake Hallstatt, according to Kyla.

“Must-take photo. Daming turista,” she said in another photo while in Hallstatt. “Mejo haba ng pila makakuha ng spot para sa picture.”

(There are lots of tourists. The line to get a spot for a picture was a bit long.)

Happy New Year, Kyla, Rich and Toby!  /ra
