Chris Hemsworth

Chris Hemsworth, aka Thor, god of thunder in “The Avengers” universe, denied in no uncertain terms a story in the Daily Mail Australia that he and his wife had truckloads of water delivered to water his garden, while parts of Down Under were being devastated by wildfires. The Daily Mail said, “Chris Hemsworth and (wife) Elsa Pataky raise eyebrows with Byron Bay locals as ‘a fleet of water trucks’ for their ‘$-million garden’ arrive at their new megamansion amid bushfire and drought crisis.”

Hemsworth responded on Instagram: “This is a complete lie. Normally, I would not respond to false articles like this, but it bothers me a lot. The water truck was purely for drinking water because, like everyone in the region who is not connected to town water, we have run out of potable water due to the drought. NONE of my garden is fed by drinking water. Thanks for your concern #dailymail and thanks for adding more distress to an already brutal situation the whole country is dealing with. Merry Xmas”

But the denial was hardly enough for @curly_girly14 who responded to Hemsworth’s post: “I would like to think you’d buy some extra water for the town! Good Xmas/New year presents for your neighbors.”

Crowe, Oscar best actor winner for “Gladiator,” was reported to be currently working on the new Miramax film “The Georgetown Project,” which would be directed by Joshua John Miller and Mark A. Fortin, who wrote the 2015 horror film “Final Girls” and developed the USA Network series, “Queen of the South.”

Kidman, who received the Oscar best actress trophy for “The Hours,” the first Australian actor to be so honored, starred recently with fellow Academy Award winner Charlize Theron and Academy Award nominees John Lithgow and Margot Robbie in “Bombshell,” which was “based on the real scandal” involving Fox News. One media report said the film “is a revealing look inside the most powerful and controversial media empire of all time; Fox News, and the explosive story of the women who brought down the infamous man (then-president Roger Ailes) who created it.”

Jackman, best-known for playing Wolverine in the “X-Men” film series from 2000 to 2018 (he holds the Guinness World Record for “longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero), is a regular on “Activate: The Global Citizen Movement.” The six-part television documentary series launched this year by National Geographic and Procter & Gamble focuses on “Global Citizen’s efforts to eradicate extreme poverty.
