Actress and television host Amy Perez warned the public about a fake account using her name and photo to solicit money from her fans.

Perez posted screenshots of the poser’s Facebook page on her Twitter account last Sunday, Dec. 22. The account used the name Tyang Amy, which Perez also uses to refer to herself, and an edited photo of her with glowing red eyes.

The poser also tried to get cash from an unnamed Facebook user, as seen in a conversation Perez uploaded. The fake account told the person to send P500 to a secretary when the person asked the poser for a new phone for their mother.

“FYI this is not mine,” she stated. “Wag po kayo maniwala (Do not believe [this].)

This is not the first time Perez’s name and photos have been used online for purposes the TV host was unaware of. In March, she called out a certain group named “Paysbook” for using her pictures in the group’s endorsements without her consent.

Perez clarified on Instagram then that she had no connection with the group, and asked the Department of Trade and Industry to look into them.

Perez is a co-host in the morning TV show “Umagang Kay Ganda” and on the noontime TV variety program “It’s Showtime”. JB
