Vice Ganda, other celebs bring joy to ‘Parade of Stars’ 2019

MANILA, Philippines — Vice Ganda and other celebs brought joy to fans who anticipated the festival floats of their movies for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) held Sunday.

Although the Unkaboggable Star was not present at the beginning of the parade, he eventually managed to make it to promote his film entry, “The Mall, The Merrier.”

Joining Vice are co-stars Dimples Romana, Tony Labrusca and the comedian’s boyfriend Ion Perez.

“Eat Bulaga” mainstays Vic Sotto and Maine Mendoza also brought smiles to spectators, as they were present  to promote their entry “Mission Unstoppable: The Don Identity.”

Jasmine Curtis-Smith shared on her Instagram what she and her “Culion” stars saw while on the parade, including a group of teenagers who bravely climbed a gate just to get a good view of their float.

“Napakasarap makakita ng mga ngiti!” “Mindanao” star Judy Ann Santos said upon seeing the number of people awaiting her movie’s float. “Salamat po sa lahat ng nag abang at nag hintay.”

The “Miracle in Cell No. 7” cast members, led by Aga Muhlach, were dressed in character as prisoners and had their umbrellas up to beat the heat.

Carmina Villarroel documented how she and her “Sunod” co-stars see the parade from their view.

And “3Pol Trobol: Huli Ka Balbon!” star Coco Martin went all the way as his alter-ego Paloma for the parade.

Martin said he borrowed Paloma from his teleserye “Ang Probinsyano,” adding that he will miss his character’s “kalandian” (flirtatiousness).

Taguig City was this year’s host for the “Parade of Stars.” The parade, which stretched to 15.2 kilometers, started from Lakeshore Hall and ended at the McKinley West Festival Grounds.

The 45th edition of the MMFF is set to open on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, and will run until Jan. 7, 2020.

The MMFF 2019 Gabi ng Parangal, meanwhile, will be on Dec. 27 at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City.
