International beauty queens Megan Young and Pia Wurtzbach graced with their regal presence the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games opening ceremony yesterday, Nov. 30.
Miss World 2013 Megan Young could not help but express her joy for being one of the “queens” for the event.
Young took some backstage photos with Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, as seen on Instagram yesterday.
The two stood cheek to cheek, wearing elegant figure-hugging Filipiniana dresses and intricately crafted jewelry.
“Each of us walked with a participating country earlier and I’m so happy I got to walk with the Indonesian athletes,” Young said.
The former Miss World cited that Indonesia holds a special place in her heart since it was in the said country where she won her crown in 2013.
Pia Wurtzbach was also a part of the opening number as the representative of the Philippines.
“Nakakakilabot nung sinabi ung (It was amazing when they said) ‘PHILIPPINES’!” Young claimed. “During that moment we were all just so proud to be Filipino.”
Wurtzbach and Young were only two of the beautiful muses which slayed the opening ceremony’s parade.
Other Filipina beauties also represented the rest of the participating countries: Miss Eco International 2018 Cynthia Thomalla (Laos), Miss Multinational 2017 Sophia Senoron (Cambodia), Miss International 2005 Lara Quigaman (Malaysia), Miss Intercontinental 2018 Karen Gallman (Brunei), Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong (Thailand), Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco (Myanmar), Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 Sharifa Akeel (Vietnam), Miss Tourism International 2017 Janine Alipo-on (Timor Leste) and Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrel (Singapore).
