Nikki Valdez rushes self to ER due to respiratory tract infection

Actress Nikki Valdez rushed  herself to the hospital last Tuesday, Nov. 26, due to a worsening cought that turned out to be a respiratory tract infection.

Valdez said in her Instagram post on the same day that she “had to rush” to the emergency room of a medical facility, which she did not name, to have herself checked because of a cough that worsened over the weekend.

She added that she had had two sleepless nights due to “chest pains, chilling and [flu-like] symptoms” that made her weak. The actress later found out that she had contracted a respiratory tract infection.

She advised those who are busy like her to “never take your health for granted.”

“Yes, there are bills to pay, schedules to accomplish, deadlines to meet, a family to take care of and so many more BUT if we do not take care of ourselves, mas mahirap naman na magkasakit at maospital (it is harder to get sick and be hospitalized),” she stated.

She stressed that getting sick adds to the obstacles that hinder one from finishing whatever is needed to be accomplished.

“So, if you feel something, do yourself a favor— do not self medicate,”  Valdez advised. “Have yourself checked right away and learn how to rest when need be.”

“Slow down and take each day one step at a time,” she said.

Valdez then took the time to thank the doctors and nurses who took care of her at the hospital. She also thanked her husband, Luis Garcia,l for watching over her.

After thanking those who wished her a speedy recovery, she advised them to get a health card for them and their families.

“If we could eat out at good restaurants, save up for trips, buy what we want, we could also set aside a budget for our health,” Valdez said.

“You can inquire at any health organization for a package that will best meet your needs,” she explained. “Believe me, this will be one of your best investments.”  /ra
