WATCH: Teaser for ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7’ Filipino remake released

MANILA, Philippines — The first teaser for the anticipated Filipino remake of Korean film “Miracle in Cell No.7” has finally been released.

Viva Films unveiled the teaser Tuesday via its Facebook page and quickly garnered support after gaining almost six million views, as of writing.

“Miracle in Cell No. 7” stars Aga Muhlach, Bela Padilla and child star Xia Vigor.

They will be joined by other stellar cast members like Mon Confiado, Tirso Cruz III, JC Santos, Joel Torre, Jojit Lorenzo and Soliman Cruz.

The movie, which premiered in Korea in 2013, tells the story of a mentally challenged man who was wrongfully imprisoned and will be helped by criminals in his cell to see his daughter again.

Confiado took to his Facebook account Wednesday to assure how director Nuel Naval remade the film to suit Filipino’s taste.

“Sobrang excited ako na mapanood ninyo ng buo ang pelikulang ito! Oo. Totoong ito ay remake. Pero magugulat kayo kung paano inadapt ng aming napakahusay na direktor na si direk Nuel Naval sa panlasang Pinoy ang buong pelikula!” Confiado wrote.

(I’m so excited for you to watch this film. Yes, it is true that this is a remake. But you will be surprised how this was adapted by our talented director Nuel Naval to fit Filipinos’ taste.)

The Filipino remake is set for release on December 25 as an entry to the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
