The mad rush prepping for the holidays can already be felt as numerous activities, events, festivities and party invites fill up our social calendar.
Just the idea of going around the metro and braving the traffic is already tiring in itself, thus the earlier we finish with our Christmas shopping, the better.

Though some prefer the convenience of doing their shopping online, it’s a very Pinoy thing to take a trip to night markets for great finds, away from the bumper-to-bumper brunt.

Entrepreneurial celebrities see this as an opportunity to share the fab contents of their closets and offer their culinary talents to help solve our holiday shopping woes.

FEATURED STORIES

Thus, celebrity mom and book author Christine “Tintin” Babao, in partnership with Circuit Makati, organized “Celebrity District,” which will feature preloved items, baked goods and other items from 30 celebrity merchants at the Circuit Holiday Night Market. This will be held at the Globe Circuit Event Grounds from Nov. 15–17, from 5 p.m. to 12 midnight.

This is perhaps one of the biggest celebrity collaborations organized by Tin, who also actively manages her styled pop-up stores and heads CBB Food, where she helps suppliers market their products.

Miriam Quiambao

MIRIAM QUIAMBAO: I’m selling freshly squeezed, naturally sweet sugar cane juice in our Tubo Cane Juice Booth.
My husband and I encountered this brand at Cebu domestic airport in 2013, loved it and wanted to have our own store in Manila to provide for our own sugarcane juice cravings, and we were awarded the master franchise for Manila.

We currently have branches in Century City Mall, Festival Mall Alabang, Metro Gaisano Alabang and Caltex SLEX.

We normally celebrate the holidays at home with my family and in-laws.

My mother-in-law cooks and I spruce up our place to celebrate the holidays. We end the night surrounding the tree and giving gifts to each other. This year will be special since it’s my Baby Elijah’s first Christmas.

Tippy Dos Santos

TIPPY DOS SANTOS: I will be selling preloved clothes, shoes, bags and accessories. Through the years, I’ve had to buy clothes and other accessories, which I have had to use for work.

Although all of them are still pretty and in good condition, I’m not able to use them as often as I should.

Because of this, my family and I have decided to sell my preloved items so that other people may enjoy the products while they are still beautiful and in trend.

As always, I spend the holidays with the people most dear to my heart, my family.

Just a simple gathering with a lot of loved ones and a lot of food for both the night before Christmas and the night before ringing in 2020!

Indie bands, film screenings

Other than shopping, the Circuit Holiday Night Market will also showcase up and coming OPM indie bands like Munimuni, Indayo and Lola Amour, whose original online releases have gained them a loyal following, particularly with millennials.

The night market will also set up CineCircuit outdoor film screenings, and showcase contemporary arts, dance and live chorale performances throughout the evening.

The event will also put a spotlight on other merchants through five distinct “Districts.”

“Green District” will showcase different landscaping products, technologies, landscape design and innovations of parter vendors coming from different regions in the country.

“Student District” is a joint effort with the UP Organization of Business Economics Majors to support student entrepreneurs in their business ventures, while the “Regional District” will feature unique, locally produced products and delicacies from across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

The Wandergram-led “Lifestyle District” will feature gift options for everyone on your list: from sustainable, zero-waste presents to skin care and makeup finds.

With all that shopping out of the way, you can head on to “Cuisine District’s” curated selection of sumptuous Filipino and international food choices from home-based vendors.

Tickets for the Circuit Holiday Night Market will be available at the Globe Circuit Events Grounds registration area.

Regular tickets are priced at P100, while student, PWD and senior citizen tickets are priced at P50.
