Gab Valenciano got discharged from the hospital last Tuesday, Oct. 29, after a six-day confinement. “Mr. Pure Energy” Gary Valenciano’s son updated his followers of his state after his hospitalization, which he posted about on Instagram, Oct. 25.

“Alive to fight another day, alive in every single way,” Gab said in his post, Tuesday. He can be seen lying down with a smile on his face and a thumbs up.

“Here’s a thumbs up to all those fighting these invisible wars on a daily basis, and to those who support our cause,” Gab said. “We are all subject to mental vulnerability, no exemptions.”

Gab also talked about the importance of understanding people who are experiencing mental health problems.

“To understand mental health you must try to understand people on a different level, which is close to impossible as we are all made differently,” he said.

On an earlier post, Oct. 25, Gab can be seen lying in a hospital bed with his parents Gary Valenciano and Angeli Pangilinan. He thanked them for being present while he was suffering from mental health-related concerns. He called them his “pillars of peace, love and strength.”

“I know it’s not easy having a son with my condition, but one call and you both are there,” Gab said.

Gab has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder about two years ago, said his brother Paolo in an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal earlier this month. Gab himself admitted in a televised interview with Christine Jacob via CNN Philippines recently that he indeed has the condition, aside from clinical depression. He is a vocal mental health advocate and encourages people with the same concerns to see mental health specialists, to break the stigma on seeking professional help. JB
