Since her “Dalagang Pilipina” video went viral, vlogger Mimiyuuuh’s star has been on the rise—so much so that his meme-worthy poses have reached K-pop star Tiffany Young, who is a member of Girls’ Generation.

A fan of the K-pop artist, one @iamparksooyoung, revealed last Tuesday, Oct. 29, that when she met Young, she and her friends made her imitate one of Mimi’s signature poses as a “dalagang Pilipina”: one hand tucking hair behind the ear while the mouth twists to the side.

When the picture was reposted by one @beyoongc, Mimi quickly took notice and was in disbelief.

Another Twitter user, @zenmikaelaaa, confirmed in a now-deleted post that Young was copying Mimi’s pose with Filipino fans.
Mimi’s version of “Dalagang Pilipina,” which consists of him doing cutesy and awkward poses to the tune of the song of the same title, took social media by storm when it was released in March. The video has 4.8 million views and has inspired many to do the online challenge, including celebrities Anne Curtis, Maine Mendoza and Sharon Cuneta, among others.
Embracing his identity as “your local jeje gurl,” the fashionable Mimi has since invaded mainstream media. His projects include vlogging with actress Heart Evangelista and attending the ABS-CBN ball as a red-carpet correspondent for a magazine. /ra
