IVY-COVERED stone house was built 50 years ago.
WE began our fun “adventures” in Batanes in 2006—but, it was only last month that an Ivatan called our attention to the green house built in 1875 near the San Carlos Borromeo Church in Mahatao. So, it’s now part of our Batanes itinerary.
A walking distance from the church is the must-see Cariaso residence, a stone house built some 50 years ago. The house is a testament to the owner’s love of nature—and his green thumb!
