‘Makabagong Rizal’

Anne Mimille Guzman’s 48-page book, “Clara’s Coffee and Other Tales,” is about treading the roads of hardship, growth and success. The optimistic Filipino child respects authority figures, values dinnertime with family, and cheerfully makes do with whatever situation is presented to him.

After attending JASMS, Anne won a scholarship in Creative Writing to the Philippine High School for the Arts, where she topped this year’s graduation class.

Recently, Anne was one of 35 Filipino youths nominated as a Makabagong Rizal ng Ating Panahon.  She espouses Rizal’s principles of love for God and country, integrity, valor, and excellence. Indeed, Anne is a Makabagong Rizal!
