New Breed finalist withdraws from fest

Eduardo Roy Jr.’s “Lola Igna,” a finalist in the New Breed category of this year’s Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival has withdrawn from the competition, citing time constraints as reason. Producer Ferdy Lapuz said its script was being revised to meet the standards of its international distributor. “To meet the deadline of the Cinemalaya festival, to be held in July, would be impossible,” he pointed out.
