A simple garden, Christian wedding for Aicelle and Mark

Aicelle Santos and Mark Zambrano

Aicelle Santos and Mark Zambrano are raring to get hitched before the year ends.

Even if they have high-profile jobs, there’s nothing flashy about the couple.

“Simple sila pero rock,” as we would say in local parlance.

As the world-class thespian and dashing sports commentator embark on their journey, there will be no “finale” nor “time out” for them.

Aicelle is the “headline” of Mark’s life while he will remain as the major character in Aicelle’s story.

Here’s my chat with Aicelle :

What excites and scares you about marriage? Waking up everyday next to the man I adore and love excites me.

Changes are always scary. But I am confident … the Lord will guide us through.

Please share a bit about your wedding/honeymoon plans. It’s a simple garden, Christian wedding with earthy tones as motif.

It will be held outside Manila. We are pushing back our honeymoon to next year. Suspense (laughs).

What marriage advice will you follow? Always talk. Never keep secrets. Pursue each other still to keep the relationship exciting.

What made you realize that Mark is “the one”? God spoke to me. God led me to him.

What are your thoughts on motherhood? Life will be more meaningful when I have a husband and children (two at the most) to love and nurture. I am ready for it.

If you would get a tempting offer again to do a musical abroad after you get married, would you accept it? If God allows it, I’d take the offer and bring Mark with me.

In what ways do you and Mark complement each other? We both are very sensitive individuals. We adjust to each other’s needs and moods.

What’s the craziest experience that you and Mark had? We’d have random crazy moments every now and then! From first dates, to our out-of-the-country trips, surprises, being stuck in traffic and our clumsy moments.

How do you and Mark handle jealousy attacks? No encounter of this yet. Hopefully, it will never happen.

What will your personal marriage vow to Mark be like? I’m working on it. It will beat the profound and mushy lines of all the love songs I’ve ever sung.

Regine Velasquez

Regine duets with int’l stars

Regine Velasquez-Alcasid has just released a duet with Australian singer Rick Price, “Nothing Can Stop Us Now” (available on Spotify, music-streaming platforms worldwide via Sony Music). They put a new spin on Price’s 1995 hit song.

The collaboration is part of the Asia’s Songbird’s streak of duets with international artists, such as Paul Anka ( “It’s Hard To Say Goodbye,”) Jacky Cheung (“In Love With You,”) Remus Choy (“I Can’t Help It,”) and David Hasselhoff (“More Than Words Can Say.”)

“Rick gave me creative freedom in terms of how I’ll interpret the song,” Reg pointed out. “But he also gave cool suggestions on how to give new life to the material.”

R and R’s collab is definitely LSS material and “repeat mode-worthy.”
