Cherie Gil will be adding the title of author to her list of many achievements, as she is set to launch her first book.

“This is it! I’m [f]inally coming out! With my very first book!” the actress said in her Instagram post last Saturday, Oct. 12.

The book is called “Kontrabida Contradiva,” an apt title for Gil who is well known for her “kontrabida” (villainous) roles, such as the character of Lavinia in the 1985 drama “Bituing Walang Ningning.”

Gil described the book as something she has “always been asked to do but never had the space, energy or even the gall to do so.”

“I’ve reached a place in my life where I don’t give a F***ng S**t to say it as it is,” she added. “In my own words and thoughts.”

She also took the time to express her gratitude to one Oliver Ortega “for painstakingly creating this very first mock draft all by his very own hands.” Gil thanked writer Katrina Santiago, too, “for prodding me and patiently putting up with my eccentricities, [c]omplexities and what have you and brilliantly curating and editing every word and phrase.”

“I can’t wait for you all to own it,” the veteran actress said. “Launching very very soon!”

Gil joins the roster of Filipino celebrity authors including Heart Evangelista (“Styled with Heart”), Dimples Romana (“Dimps Tips”) and Alex Gonzaga (“Dear Alex, break na kami. Paano?! Love, Catherine”).  /ra
