All’s well with Rita and Alex after airport snubbing issue

“I really hope we don’t turn this into an issue and blow it out of proportion, because it was nothing to me and Ken (Chan).”

This was Rita Daniela’s reply when asked to comment on Lolit Solis’ recent Instagram post, claiming that the two GMA 7 stars were snubbed by Alex Gonzaga at an airport in Davao some time ago.

Citing a source, the seasoned show biz columnist and talent manager alleged that Rita and Ken introduced themselves to Alex—whom they admire for her vlogging—but got nothing more than an unaffected nod.

“That’s all in the past. We and Alex are OK—we already talked to each other,” Rita told reporters at a recent press conference for the primetime soap “One of the Baes,” which starts airing on Sept. 30. “That’s what’s important. All is well.”

The 24-year-old singer-actress added that what happened was “understandable.”

“She may have been tired or going through something at the time. And as actors, we can relate to that because that sort of thing also happens to us,” she added.

Meanwhile, Alex replied to Manay Lolit’s post, refuting her source’s version of the incident.

“We shook hands and smiled at each other—same with all other GMA artists at the lounge,” she wrote in Tagalog, adding that she even retweeted Ken’s take on the “Chambe” dance challenge, which she started online. —ALLAN POLICARPIO
