ABC TV’s “Dancing With The Stars,” Lady Gaga and the producers of NBC TV’s “Smash” were also among honorees recognized Saturday in New York.

Seventeen-year-old Katy Butler got a special award. She’s launched an online petition drive to press the Motion Picture Association of America to lower its R rating for the documentary “Bully.” The MPAA says the rating reflects language in the film.

The awards honor fair, accurate and inclusive representation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

More awards are to be presented in Los Angeles in April and San Francisco in June.
