After making its rounds in different countries, the world’s most popular reality dating show has finally made its way to Japan. “The Bachelor Japan,” featuring the country’s first bachelor, Hirotake Kubo, premieres on TLC at 9 p.m. on Sept. 19.
In the first season, Hirotake, a graduate of Tokyo University’s business master’s program, meets 25 hopeful young women, who are all vying for his affection. Each woman is given a chance to spend time with the bachelor—from group dates at a robot restaurant to intimate one-on-one sessions—in the hopes of making that connection that would lead to eternal love.
As commonly seen in the show, however, dating does not always end as intended. With the show’s elimination format, the girls end up being sent home one by one until only one remains. Find out who he hands the final rose to.
