MANILA, Philippines — The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and ABS-CBN are teaming up for the centennial celebration of Philippine cinema, which kicks off on Sept. 12.

The partnership deal was signed on Wednesday by FDCP Chairperson Liza Diño; Cory Vidanes, ABS-CBN chief operating officer for broadcast; and Olivia Lamasan, managing director of ABS-CBN Films.

“We’re officially celebrating the 100 years of Philippine cinema starting Sept. 12, 2019 and we’re very lucky we have ABS-CBN to really fully realize this vision of not just celebrating it for the industry but talagang sa buong sambayanang pilipino,” Diño said after the contract signing.

“Tuwang tuwa din kami because they chose us as their media partner and it’s an honor for us to be their partner for the 100-year celebration of Philippine cinema,” Vidanes said.

“We are really honored and privileged to support FDCP para sa lahat ng kanilang endeavors para dito sa Sandaan,” Lamasan said.

The celebration will open on Sept. 12 at the New Frontier Theater with Sine Sandaan, an event to pay tribute to industry icons.
