At a special screening of “47 Meters Down: Uncaged,” one of its stars, Sistine Stallone, got a taste of how it feels to walk the red carpet and talk to the press about her own film, after years of seeing her dad, Sylvester, do it for his movies.
“I feel naked! [But] the whole family is supporting. I’m so excited,” Sistine, 21, told Entertainment Tonight. “Honestly, I feel a little speechless. This is, for the first time, my thing. So that’s really cool. Hopefully, this isn’t my first [and last] red carpet.”
Sistine chatted on FaceTime with dad Sly during filming, and the latter jokingly suggested that director Johannes Roberts should let her punch a shark.
“He wanted the director’s note to be … instead of swimming away, [my character should] confront the shark head-on, which I don’t think would play out well,” she said. In the film, she plays a teenager whose group scuba dives into labyrinthine caves and is menaced by the undersea predator.
On realizing years ago that her dad was a popular action star and filmmaker, Sistine quipped, “He’s my dad. I will never admit that he’s a big deal … And I don’t know if I want to be a big deal. We’ll see.”
On the physicality required for the film, Sistine related, “I think, out of all the girls, I excelled the most. I don’t want to make anyone feel bad. But I really enjoyed the physical aspect of it.” —OLIVER PULUMBARIT
