MANILA, Philippines — As her daughter Frankie Pangilinan moves to New York City for college, Megastar Sharon Cuneta has admitted turning down show offers to keep her family as top priority.
Cuneta revealed this in a video blog posted Thursday night over her Youtube channel titled “My Kakie’s leaving for college in NYC :-(“
“I have really been declining, not even considering, offers for a new show, because I don’t want to be tied down here weekly,” Cuneta said. “So I have a long break when I’m not doing a movie.”
“I felt really bad when I found out about this,” Frankie chimed in.
Now that she is “secure enough,” the seasoned singer-actress said she is now able to consider what she truly feels and be able to visit Frankie without worries.
“It’s priorities. I’m old enough and I think I’m secure enough, thank God, to decide on things like that and take my real feelings into consideration and follow my priorities in order,” Cuneta said.
“I want to be able to go for a couple of weeks without worrying,” she added.
Since she wants a lighter schedule, Cuneta said she now prefers doing concerts and movies now.
“I’m in a singing, performing in a concert and doing movies mode now. I don’t want to have that weekly heavy schedule,” she shared.
Frankie and Cuenta have already arrived in New York when she posted the video, as indicated in its description.
It read: “As I upload this, we have just arrived in New York. Praying we all make it through having to leave her here when it’s time for the rest of us to go back home in Manila.”
It was last June when Frankie graduated from high school and Cuneta bared her daughter’s plans to continue school abroad. /muf
