Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach recently flew to Vietnam for her web travel program “Pia’s Postcards” for Metro Channel.
“Xin Chao! Strolling around the beautiful and timeless streets of of Hoi An old town,” the beauty queen said in her Instagram post on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
She also expressed her excitement to take part in the town’s lantern festival.
“It’ll be a first for me!” she stated. “Releasing a lantern is said to bring good fortune.”
As a coffee lover herself, Wurtzbach took the time to savor a cup in the old town.
She also got to don a traditional Vietnamese dress, the Ao Dai. Wurtzbach opted for the outfit in a shade of pink, paired with white pants. To complete the look, she wore a traditional conical hat.
Of course, no trip is complete without tasting the local food. Following recommendations from her fans and followers, Wurtzbach visited the Banh Mi Phuong restaurant. She shared the moment on her Instagram Stories yesterday, Aug. 14.
The establishment became well-known for its bánh mì, a Vietnamese sandwich, after it was featured on the late Anthony Bourdain’s travel show.
Wurtzbach has taken her fans and followers to different cities such as Tokyo, New York and Dubai, as well as local destinations Aurora, Cebu and Baguio in past episodes. JB
