Kylie Padilla shared with fellow moms and fans that she quit breastfeeding her firstborn son Alas weeks after she found out she was pregnant with her second baby.

Padilla looked back on her breastfeeding journey with Alas, as seen on her Instagram account yesterday, Aug. 6. She recently confirmed that she is 22 weeks pregnant, via her YouTube vlog.

“We officially ended our breastfeeding journey a few weeks after I found out I was pregnant. Breastfeeding was the most intimate thing I have ever experienced in my life,” Padilla said.

“I was the one who didn’t want to quit after he turned one. What I love most about it is the eye contact I have with my baby boy,” she added.

The Kapuso actress then expressed her admiration for mothers, since August is the national breastfeeding month. She also gave a special acknowledgment to mothers who breastfeed their babies despite the struggle.

“Happy breastfeeding month [to] all the padede (breastfeeding) moms out there. And for those moms who really struggled, what is most important is that [your] baby is getting the nutrients he/she needs,” Padilla said.

According to the United States National Center for Health and Public Housing, August is the month where the medical community gives importance to how breastfeeding can have a positive effect on mothers and their children.
