Sanya Lopez is set to star alongside Philippine cinema’s Superstar, Nora Aunor, in an upcoming family drama called “Isa Pang Bahaghari”.
Director Joel Lamangan will be helming the production, as per GMA Artist Center via Instagram last Sunday, July 28.
Lopez will be portraying Dolly, daughter of Aunor and Phillip Salvador’s characters in the new project. Dennis Evangelista, a producer for the film, shared the news on his Facebook page last Friday, July 26.
Evangelista also revealed that Zanjoe Marudo and Joseph Marco will be playing the role of Lopez’ brothers in the film.
Another veteran actor Michael de Mesa will be starring in the movie as well, although it is still unclear as of this writing what his role will be. Meanwhile, Maris Racal, Albie Casino and Migs Alemandras will be playing the role of young Aunor, Salvador and de Mesa, respectively.
Lopez previously starred in the 2016 remake of the fantasy TV series “Encantadia”. She is also part of the crime series “Dahil sa Pag-ibig” that currently airs on GMA.
Aunor has gained widespread acclaim here and abroad for her roles in movies such as “Himala” (1982), “Bulaklak sa City Jail” (1984), “The Flor Contemplacion Story” (1995) and the more recent “Thy Womb” (2012), among numerous other notable films and performances. The actress was recently awarded the Philippine Cinema Icon Award in the 2nd Subic Bay International Film Festival earlier this June. JB
