MANILA, Philippines – The local music industry’s biggest stars hailed and extended congratulatory messages to Zephanie Dimaranan who on Sunday night emerged as the first winner of “Idol Philippines.”
No less than Tony award-winning actress Lea Salonga said she had a hunch of Dimaranan’s victory weeks ago.
“Had a pretty good feeling from many weeks ago when her pipes were paired with Paraiso. Congratulations, Zephanie! A victory well-deserved!” Salonga said Sunday in a Twitter post.

“Mr. Pure Energy” Gary Valenciano reminded Dimaranan that her mentors will always be there for her even after her “Idol Philippines” stint.
“Congrats Zephanie. I hope you never forget all that you’ve learned with all your mentors. Kahit tapos na ang Idol Philippines, we will be here for you pa rin. God bless you and congrats!!!!” Valenciano said.

“The Voice” season two grand winner Jason Dy said there is a “bright future” ahead for Dimaranan.
He also congratulated and commended the two other top three finalists – Lucas Garcia and Lance Busa.

Erik Santos likewise hailed Dimaranan’s win over his Twitter account, saying it may have been the first time for a contestant to receive a perfect score in a singing contest.

Dimaranan, from Biñan, Laguna, garnered a combined score of 100 percent after she performed “Maghintay Ka Lamang” and “Pangarap Kong Pangarap Mo.”
Prior to her “Idol Philippines” stint, she joined other singing competitions like “The Voice Kids” and “It’s Showtime’s” “Tawag Ng Tanghalan.” /gsg
