MANILA, Philippines — Singer Yeng Constantino could not help but air her dismay over the “traumatic experience” they had when her husband Yan figured in an accident in Siargao.

In a Facebook post on Friday, Constantino said her husband had a memory loss after he figured in an accident when he jumped from the diving spot in Sugba Lagoon, Siargao.
After nung impact nagka-memory loss sya.
Constantino said they were able to call an ambulance immediately and bring Yan in a hospital at Del Carmen. However, a medical personnel advised them to transfer him to Dapa Siargao Hospital since it has more medical equipment.
Sana meron din ditong equipment dahil malapit to sa tourist attractions na my cliff diving at prone to accidents,’” she added.
But what supposed to be a short stay at the hospital was prolonged. Constantino said the X-Ray did not have an operator and the scanner used to check Yan’s brain hemorrhage was new and has no battery.
“Walang operator ng x ray. – yung unang nag x ray kay Yan nag error yung ginawa nya. After 2 hours dumating yung marunong mag operate nung x ray machine,” Constantino shared.
At pagbukas nito wala pang battery charge so we had to wait para gumana!!!” she added.
Constantino also lamented the “lack of urgency” of the doctor at the site.
Having experienced this, Constantino called on the government to address this issue.
The singer also pointed out it was not the first time this has happened: “Pa.
Constantino also gave her followers a look on what happened with a video blog uploaded on her Youtube channel titled “Traumatic Experience in Siargao Hospital.”

Last year, broadcast journalist Karen Davila’s son figured in an accident while surfing and was unable to receive proper first aid.

In April, the boyfriend of model Kelsey Merritt Olympian Condor Dwyer sustained a head cut that needed stitches. To get proper medical treatment, they had to ride a boat to reach a clinic since the municipality they were in at General Luna had no hospitals. /jpv
