MANILA, Philippines – Actress and model Lauren Young took to social media to ask her followers if Chinese-only restaurants are legal.
Young shared Monday a photo of a restaurant’s storefront with an “Only for Chinese customer” sign
Is this even legal? (My fave resto in Subic has been sold and this sign is up) I really want to know if business owners are allowed to do this.
If I had a restaurant am I allowed to put up these signs for example:
“Only for dog Customers”
“Only for Filipino Customers”

“Is this even legal?” Young captioned the photo posted via her Twitter account.
“My fave resto in Subic has been sold and this sign is up. I really want to know if business owners are allowed to do this,” she added.
Young also asked if she would be allowed to put up a restaurant exclusive for dogs and Filipinos only.
“If I had a restaurant am I allowed to put up these signs for example: ‘Only for dog Customers’ ‘Only for Filipino Customers’ LMK [Let me know],” Young sarcastically said.
In May, a Chinese-only food park in Las Piñas City went viral on social media.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ordered the city government to suspend the food park’s operations after discovering it did not have necessary documents, including business permits.
