Though he’s not exactly a fan of either Taylor Swift or Scooter Braun, Noel Gallagher admitted that he has been keeping tabs on the two’s ongoing feud.
Early this month, Scooter, a businessman and manager to such pop stars as Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, purchased Big Machine records—Taylor’s label from 2005 to 2018. This means that the masters of Taylor’s first six albums is now at the hands of Scooter, whom she put on blast and called a “bully” in an impassioned social media post.
“They’re just American idiots… I would be f**king ashamed of them, if I were you,” the former Oasis frontman told Variety in a recent interview.
Noel added that the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer should just accept what happened, because the number of artists who have been signed to a label and actually own their master recordings is close to nonexistent.
“You don’t own your own f**ing sh*t,” the British rock star pointed out. “Which is why when I finally left Oasis, I started my own record label, because I wanted to own them (his songs).” —ALLAN POLICARPIO
