Rico Blanco calls out entertainment site for ‘stupid headline’
MANILA, Philippines — Singer-songwriter Rico Blanco called out an entertainment website for the “stupid headline” of an article about him.
Blanco quoted Monday via Twitter an article with the headline “Rico Blanco, ayaw ma-label bilang Keanu Reeves ng Pilipinas.”
“stupid headline will get me into trouble guys. my point was lets stop making filipinos local versions of global icons,” the former Rivermaya member posted in his Twitter account.

“I know people mean it as a compliment and I’m flattered about it, but I have a running silent advocacy na Filipinos should not be Pinoy versions of whoever,” Blanco was quoted as saying in the report, when asked about how he feels about being labeled as the Keanu Reeves of the Philippines.
The singer said it would be “the last time” the website will be invited to his press conferences.
“I trusted you but you abused the trust like u always do w artists. next time learn to respect the artists you interview. understand they work hard and help put food on YOUR table,” he added.
The said interview happened during Blanco’s contract signing with Viva Music Publishing Inc. (Editor: Eden Estopace)
