TV host’s wife barred from set

The producer of the popular  noontime show “Eat Bulaga” has filed a temporary restraining order (TRO) against Ana Lyn Manalo,  wife of one of its hosts, comedian Jose Manalo.

Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE) has asked a Quezon City court to issue an order barring Ana Lyn Manalo from “approaching Jose at his workplace and from performing any and all acts that would prevent Jose from effectively performing his duties.”’

However, a hearing scheduled Friday was deferred after the respondent could not be found at her given address.

TAPE also asked the court for Ana Lyn to pay them P100,000 for nominal damages, P250,000 for moral damages and P100,000 as attorney’s fees and litigation expenses.

Based on their complaint, TAPE accused Ana Lyn of harassing its talent, resulting in losses for the show’s producer.

According to the complaint, Ana Lyn, in several instances had  physically and verbally abused the host, accusing him of having extra-marital affairs, among others.

“These unfounded imputations against Jose wreak havoc not only on Jose’s image and reputation, but also reflect negatively on the long-standing reputation and goodwill of ‘Eat Bulaga,’” the complaint added.
